Support the Helen M. Sherrod Memorial Scholarship Fund
Helen M. Sherrod was a dedicated third grade teacher in Connecticut for over twenty-five years. Because of Helen's love, passion, and devotion to her students and vocation, her family felt it was important to actively continue her legacy in helping to raise up another generation of students interested in pursuing a college education in teaching at the university level.
The Helen M. Sherrod Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015 to support incoming students enrolled full-time in the Neag School of Education, who demonstrate both financial need and academic achievement. Its yearly goal is to assume $2,500 per year for each recipient/student, with the overall goal in assisting the student with $10,000 throughout his/her undergraduate teaching program.
