In anticipation of the annual Accounting Honors Banquet at the end of April, we are creating an endowed fund to honor John Phillips.

While John's contributions are numerous, his particular passion and devotion has been to our PhD students. Until last fall, John served as our department's PhD coordinator and was responsible for our recent improvements in admissions and placements. To permanently recognize John's contributions the Accounting department is establishing the John D. Phillips Doctoral Student Award to annually recognize an accounting doctoral student.

Our goal is to secure $50,000 in commitments to this fund by April 15th, 2017 so we can announce the endowment at the banquet. If we can't reach the minimum necessary to endow, all gifts will be used to support doctoral student awards in John's name.
