Thank you for wanting to support UConn.

Due to the state's fiscal challenges and declining enrollment, UConn's board of trustees made the difficult decision to close the Torrington campus as of May 2016.

The regional campus had been a proud tradition in Torrington since 1965, but more recently had struggled with enrollment. Over the past five years, freshman enrollment slipped to between 53 and 62 students, which prevented the University from offering the range and quality of academic programs offered at other UConn campuses.

The University worked closely with UConn Torrington students to help them transfer to other UConn campuses—so a donation to the scholarship fund can still help students from the Torrington area.

There also are many other areas of need you can support, such as The Fund for UConn, which directs fund to where they are needed most, Schools and Colleges, and UConn Health. Thank you.
