Friedman Prize in Journalism A Project of CLAS Department of Journalism: Journalism Fund

Donald and Jewell Friedman established the Friedman Prize in Journalism when Don retired as UConn's Director of Public Information in 1976. Before the Department of Journalism was established, Don taught several courses himself. Jewell was a newspaper reporter and later was the University's liaison to the General Assembly.

Gifts to this fund provide scholarships for journalism majors.
