Public Interest Law Group Annual Auction
Public Interest stipends for Law Students
Public Interest Law Group (PILG) A Project of Law Ignite 2016
The Public Interest Law Group works with the community to encourage Public Interest work in the Legal Field through areas such as Human Rights, Child Advocacy, or Pro Bono legal work.
The Annual PILG Auction benefits the PILG endowment which provides stipends for students donating their time to serve underrepresented communities through unpaid positions. In the past, the endowment has supported students working at such organizations as Greater Hartford Legal Aid, Connecticut Commission on Human Rights & Opportunities, and Massachusetts Advocates for Children.
The Public Interest Law Groups uses funds to pay for catering, decorations, and other similar items that go towards making this a professional and enjoyable event that keeps people coming back every year!
All money raised through the Ignite Competition will be used to fund the PILG Auction directly. However, if we exceed our goal, the funds will be directly put towards a stipend for Public Interest work for the Summer of 2017.
