UConn Men's Crew A Project of Ignite 2017

The University of Connecticut Men's Crew team is a club sport consisting of over 50 competitive athletes. In the past several years, our team has taken huge strides in becoming more competitive and gone toe to toe with some of the fastest schools in the country. To date, we have attracted our largest and most competitive novices classes in team history. Last year, in May 2016, our team competed for the first time at the American Collegiate Rowing Association Championships (nationals), in Gainesville, GA. All of the boats sent to the competition put on an impressive performance and we hope to be able to build on that this coming year.

While our team has seen huge successes in the past few years, we are still held back by our limited funding. As a club sport, we can only apply for, and receive, a limited amount of funding from the university. Other costs are offset by team dues and donations from our generous supporters. Your donation will be put to use in funding the purchase of an 8+ racing shell. Currently, we only have three newer, race-quality 8+ shells, and three older 8+'s. With only two seniors graduating this May, and a current novice roster of 23, our varsity squad is going to be large enough to fill four varsity 8+'s come next fall. In addition, we plan to once again field three or four novice boats in the fall semester. All donations will be put towards our next purchase of a competitive used racing shell in time for the fall 2017 season, or sooner. Even if we do not reach our fundraising goal, we will still receive all of the funds raised and will still be put towards the purchase of the next boat.

We are a rapidly growing team and with each passing month of training we are getting faster and faster, we will provide the effort, all you need to do is donate!

We are no longer accepting donations on this campaign, but there are other ways for you to support us today!
