Diane Wright Field Hockey Challenge

In 1981, Hall of Fame Head Coach Diane Wright guided the Huskies to their first ever NCAA Field Hockey Championship and the University's first NCAA Championship. Amazingly in 1985, she did it again, winning another NCAA title. In 15 illustrious years as head coach, she built the foundation for national dominance. That continues today under Hall of Fame Head Coach Nancy Stevens who recently just attained her 600th career win, most in collegiate field hockey history. The program recently won back to back National titles in 2013 and 2014 and has played in 26 NCAA Tournaments.

In 1991, your fellow alumnae established the Diane Wright Field Hockey Scholarship Fund. The fund was established for two reasons. First to honor Coach Wright and second, to award a scholarship to a participating member of the field hockey team. However, our job is not complete.

We are striving for 100% alumnae participation to increase the Diane Wright Scholarship Fund. In order to continue the program's ominous success, the UConn Field Hockey family needs to raise $125,000.00 towards the current scholarship.

Please consider a gift to the Diane Wright Field Hockey Scholarship Fund. Any size donation will have an immediate impact. Let's have the tradition of excellence continue for generations of field hockey players here in Storrs.
